Ronda Dougherty

Ran La Roca

For the past several years, Ronda has been creating her “crazy little figures” from recycled, repurposed, and found materials. Each sculpture begins with discarded objects—items once overlooked or thrown away—and transforms them into whimsical, expressive characters full of personality and story.

Every piece is completed with a handmade glass or ceramic element, carefully crafted to embellish and unify the sculpture. These unique components add texture, color, and individuality, ensuring that no two figures are ever alike. The balance between reclaimed materials and handcrafted detail reflects Ronda’s playful creativity as well as her commitment to thoughtful making.

Ronda believes deeply in the importance of reuse. “It’s important to me that we as a society try to reuse and repurpose as much of our trash as possible,” she says. “There is a lot that goes to waste that is completely usable in our day-to-day life, if we just look around and be open to it.”
