David has been woodworking for over 50 years, dedicating his life to exploring the expressive possibilities of wood. With a deep respect for the material and the landscapes from which it comes, his work reflects both technical mastery and a profound connection to the natural world.

Dave is especially known for his woodturning, creating intricate kaleidoscopes, finely balanced spheres, and sculptural wood vessels. Each piece is an exploration of form, symmetry, and movement—where precision craftsmanship meets organic spontaneity. Through the meditative rhythm of the lathe, he reveals the hidden character within every block of wood.

Working primarily with local FIREWIZE Alligator Juniper and Mesquite, Dave honors the life cycle of the trees he transforms. These resilient desert woods—marked by dramatic grain patterns, rich coloration, and natural figuring—bring warmth and depth to his creations. By using locally sourced material, he preserves not only the beauty of the wood but also a tangible connection to place.
